implementing TPRS and ci in the core French classroom
On this website you will find some basic information about TPRS and CI teaching, specifically for the Core French Classroom. Resources for exploring and implementing TPRS will be available, as well as follow up activities and information to my local TPRS workshops.
Parent and student feedbackWe asked some of our Grade Six and Seven students and parents to provide some feedback on their experience with the TPRS and CI classroom. Parent Comments: “I think the storytelling methodology program being introduced in the LFI is offering a more holistic approach to learning French and will allow a more broader range of style of learners.” “The benefits are taking the pressure off the students and families and solidifying the key foundations in understanding what is being taught directly from the teacher in the classroom; I see that my child is keen on learning and is excited.” Student Comments: "TPRS helps us with our writing skills. The stories develop our comprehension because the words repeat. The comics help us remember new words.” “Because the stories are funny, it’s fun to go home and tell the stories to your parents or siblings, and sometimes you can even tell them in French. When I used to learn French, it was a lot of memorization, and I forgot a lot of it after. The stories make it easier to remember.” |
